In 2009, we launched Ca' Pietra, bringing a fresh, expressive approach to tile and surface design.

We began in Devizes in 1989 as Artisans of Devizes. What started as a small Wiltshire workshop, with showroom and workspace side by side, has grown into a carefully curated world of tile and stone, shaped over time by craftsmanship, curiosity and care.
We spent our early years working with materials by hand, learning their unique character through touch, time and technique. Before we were known for our collections, we were craftspeople, tilers and ornamental plasterers, developing an instinctive understanding of quality, detail and the beauty found in every imperfect surface.
We began with slate and terracotta, rooted in a respect for traditional craftsmanship and a belief in authenticity. Handmade terracotta, rich with variation and warmth, showed us the beauty in imperfection and the quiet history carried within each piece. From there, our palette expanded naturally. Stone followed, chosen for its longevity and quiet strength, alongside heritage English limestone, valued for its provenance and understated elegance.
The more we learned about stone, the more possibilities we found in it. We invested in new ways of working: refining how it could be shaped, finished and cared for over time. We have always moved between tradition and curiosity, and that balance continues to shape us today.
In 2009, we launched Ca' Pietra, marking a new chapter in our story. Inspired by historic architecture, the natural world and craftsmanship from across Europe and beyond, the brand brought a fresh, expressive perspective to tile and surface design. It allowed us to explore colour, pattern and texture in new ways while remaining firmly rooted in the heritage and expertise that defined our beginnings.
Today, those two chapters come together under one identity: Ca' Pietra, Artisans Since 1989.
Proudly British and family owned, we continue to collaborate with designers, architects and retail partners to create distinctive tile and stone collections that bring beauty, personality and enduring quality to homes, gardens and commercial spaces.
