White Tiles

White is the most popular colour we sell, and also the one that rewards the most care in choosing. There's a whole spectrum within it: bright, cool whites, chalky off-white tones, and warmer whites that feel like cream in one light and white in another. Even natural stone whites, like marble and limestone, are rarely pure white, carrying their own grey or warm movement instead.

Undertone is worth thinking about first: warm whites sit happily with timber, brass and painted joinery, while cool whites pair naturally with chrome, steel and grey stone. Finish matters too, since a glossier surface throws light around a room, while a matt finish feels calmer and more contemporary, with satin sitting between the two.

Texture is what keeps a white scheme from ever feeling flat, from handmade and zellige-style tiles where the glaze pools and varies, to sculptural relief patterns that throw shadow, and shapes like hexagons or herringbone that add rhythm without adding colour. Grout plays its part too. A matched white grout creates one continuous surface, while a darker grout turns the same tile into something more graphic.
