White Bathroom Tiles

A white bathroom is one of the most reliable schemes there is. It feels clean, makes a small room feel larger, works with almost any sanitaryware, and still looks right well over a decade later. The whole effect comes down to a straightforward formula: choosing the right white and giving the room enough texture to be worth looking at.

Most modern sanitaryware is a bright, cool white, and a warmer or creamier white bathroom tile beside it can look slightly yellowed by comparison, which is why matching undertones makes such a difference to the finished room. From there, texture does the rest of the work: handmade or Zellige-style tiles with natural glaze variation shift through the day as the light changes, while honed or polished marble brings veining that does the decorating on its own.

Relief tiles, hexagons, scallops and vertical stacked brick formats all add geometry to a plain white tile bathroom scheme without introducing another colour. Layering different whites is a forgiving technique too: a white marble on the walls with a white limestone or tumbled white stone on the floor builds depth while keeping everything in the same tonal family.
