Chimney's

Chimney's

Earlier this year, Margi Rose Interiors completed one of their most cherished projects—a stunning transformation of a period property known as 'Chimney's' in a picturesque Berkshire village. The house, recently acquired by new owners, required significant updates to restore its charm while adapting it for contemporary living. Nikki from Margi Rose Interiors shared the background of the project, emphasising the importance of respecting the house's historical elements while incorporating modern design touches to ensure longevity and functionality.

The main aim was to modernise the layout and aesthetic of the property while future-proofing it for years to come. This involved reconfiguring parts of the house and extending specific areas to create a more welcoming entrance, a practical boot room, a WC, and a separate utility space. The design direction, which embraced a 'Modern Farmhouse' style, influenced every aspect of the renovation, guiding the choice of materials, colours, and furnishings.

Each room in the property underwent a full makeover, blending traditional charm with contemporary comforts. The result was a home that not only honoured its historical roots but also catered to the practical needs of modern family life.

For this project, Margi Rose Interiors turned to Ca' Pietra for their extensive range of high-quality tiles, which became a pivotal element in the redesign. Known for their durability and variety, Ca' Pietra tiles were chosen for key areas throughout the house, adding both aesthetic appeal and functional value to the spaces.

In the utility room and toilet, the team used Mallory Limestone, pairing it with the Royal Mink Limestone to create an eye-catching chequerboard floor in the hallway and boot room. This design choice not only enhanced the visual flow between these high-traffic areas but also provided a practical solution for everyday wear and tear.

The guest bathroom featured a Deck Chair porcelain tile in Sage was chosen for the shower enclosure, introducing a playful pop of colour that created a welcoming and fun atmosphere for visitors. This was complemented by the Islington Porcelain White Textured on the floor, which balanced the vibrant green with a clean, classic look.

In the family bathroom, a Cuba Porcelain tile was selected for the floor, bringing a subtle Moroccan-inspired pattern that added a touch of elegance without overwhelming the space. For the walls, the Maroc Porcelain Gloss Bianco was chosen, providing a sleek, glossy finish that enhanced the light and airy feel of the room.

For the master ensuite, the Long Island Marble brick was chosen for the shower enclosure and threshold, adding a timeless element to the space. Having worked with this classic tile on other projects, the team knew it would bring a sense of luxury and continuity to the ensuite design.

Nikki emphasised that their choice of Ca' Pietra was driven by the brand's exceptional range of tiles, patterns, shapes, and finishes. Additionally, the quality of the products and the excellent customer service made them a reliable partner throughout the project. With a conveniently located showroom near their office in Hartley Wintney, Margi Rose Interiors could easily stay updated on the latest tile ranges, making it an easy decision to collaborate with Ca' Pietra once again. The transformation of 'Chimney's' stands as a testament to the thoughtful integration of traditional elements with modern design sensibilities, creating a home that is both beautiful and functional—a perfect example of Margi Rose Interiors' commitment to delivering timeless, personalised spaces for their clients.
