ENSUITES, DOWNSTAIRS LOOS, FAMILY BATHROOMS − LISTEN UP.

Our bathroom tile trend report for 2024 is in, with the seven style insights you need to know about for when this year comes to a close. Get ahead of the game with the looks the world of interiors will be lusting after and the tiles you need to achieve them. Here, our Head of Creative, Grazzie Wilson shows you the styles you need to take to your bathroom, come 2024.

01. BATHROOM ART

Bringing art into the bathroom is something to always be encouraged. But here, we’re talking about two things. First, the rise of muralists being commissioned to paint breathtakingly beautiful scenes straight onto your walls. And two, how bathroom art is becoming more about collabs with artists-to-know who are designing and decorating tiles that are art gallery worthy.

Work the trend through our Artist in Residence campaign, where we’re inviting a series of painters and illustrators to collaborate with us on their very own tile capsule each season. From the hand-painted Wild Botanicals with Clarissa Hulse and lino-style nature motifs by Maria Yiannikkou to our just-launched collab with one of our favourite artists, Sasha Compton, 2024’s bathrooms are getting a whole lot more painterly.

And the best bit? They’re ONE HUNDRED PER CENT personalised as you can combine various patterns and palettes to create your very own work of art for your space.

02. GEOMETRICS GO PRETTY

With their sharp angles and dynamic form, geometric tiles are mostly seen in black and white or vibrant colours. Toning things down for 2024, however, are tiles that feature classic geometry- inspired patterns but in a palette that’s softer and fresher than you’ve seen before.

With powder blue tiles like Quintessential Porcelain Darcy, you won’t lose the energy that geometric design embodies but you will have that sugared softness that pastels promise too. Or check out our new wall and floor tile, Kaleidoscope that, as the name suggests, is as though you’re looking down the eye of a beguiling kaleidoscope that cuts a mesmerising pastel picture at the end.

The best of both worlds coming to a shower enclosure near you.

03. ON THE DINKY SIDE

Think small, sweet and cute to boot, because this season, tiles go mega mini.

Picking up on the trend for all things mini, our micro metro tiles are one of our cutest collections. You can lay these tiles on your floors (think a border to break up a larger flagstone tile or solo looks great too) equally, you can run them up your walls (try them vertically to create a divine bath panel). Point being, get playful, decide if you’re in the gloss or matt camp, pick a tone and tile away. Our new Petite Porcelain tiles are strong contenders to consider if you want to create stripes too. Coming in 12 tones, you can find a pairing or even think about adding in a third contrasting coloured strip if you fancy.

04. WORLD TRAVELLER

Interiors inspired by faraway shores are a constant feature in magazines and ‘the gram’, but 2024’s travelling trend isn’t specific to a country which makes it feel much more free-spirited.

Bathroom walls can absolutely be in on this one, but the focus is bathroom floors, grounding your space in a sense of elsewhere so you can literally step foot into Andalusia, Cuba, Morocco or wherever your imagination feels at its happiest.

New-in this season is our Capri tile that lets you immerse yourself in the island’s luscious greenery. Or if rustic Italy’s more your thing, our Sardinia collection with all its rich colour will transform your bathroom into a heritage palazzo – ideal. Continuing on the Italian trail, our new terrazzo collection, Rialto, will bring the city of Venice into your home. Take yourself to India with our new pared-down pastel Kashmir tiles or why not head to vibrant Morocco with tiles such as Fez – also new in this season.

05. PLASTER AND RUST

Plaster pink and rust, or umber red have been a pairing quietly gathering pace. The two together feel warm and comforting, relaxing and soothing but also a bit “fashion” too because they don’t cut your classic sort of contrast. To work the look solely with tiles, lean into those that are earthy pink – you’re looking for a pinky neutral ultimately. The Avebury Ceramic tiles in Plaster are winners combining nicely with our Reform Stone tiles in Rosso or Brasserie Glass in Burgundy.

Other plaster options you could just about get away with that have a hint more colour include Seaton in Shrimp, Petite Porcelain in Cotto, and Reform Stone again but this time in Cotto. But our favourite of all to mirror this trend in your bathroom? The Pavilion tile in Russet Red that features those hero two shades with a dose of sage green and denim blue to break things up. Flow them from floor to walls like we did on this pedestal sink and your bathroom will fast become your favourite room in your whole home.

Likewise, in the paint world, 2024’s shades are getting richer and deeper, they’re also leaning into the rust tones too. Dial up the warmth with cocooning “don’t want to leave the house” shades for this coming season. Greens still have their place but colour drenching a room in the deepest brown, terracotta and rust shades really help to set the tone (and mood) in 2024. Shades to covet this season from Proper Good Paint include, Cassia’s Terracotta, Margot’s Earth and Ebba’s Rust.

06. MARBLE SILHOUETTES

Marble continues to top the style charts in 2024 with not one marble tile trend but two.

The first is all about mixing up your marble shapes. First there were marble metro tiles and mosaics, and now come new and intriguing shapes such as the Picket-style and mini square Brick bond form from our Palazzo Oro collection. Put a few in the same space for maximum effect just as Simply Bathrooms (Surrey) did in this luxe marble ensuite makeover. Or look to another of their home renovations stories where they brought in the coloured chevron marble that is our bestselling East Java collection.

07. MAXI MARBLE-EFFECT

From micro marble to 2024’s other major marble trend – large format marble-effect flagstones.

While the smaller marble tiles make a shapely statement, these tiles are all about the effect of marble and its majestic colouring. Classic Carrara marble tiles is a timeless place to start but for something more on-trend for 2024, it’s all about those more unusual marbles from deep green Guatemalan-style marble, get the look with our marble-effect tiles, à la our Rainforest and totally transfixing Hollywood tiles that give up gemstone vibes to fall hard for.
