A gorgeous blend of elegance and earthy charm, the brief for this family bathroom in Richmond was to create a contemporary feel inspired by Scandinavian spas.
To set the warming and natural tone to this space, Bathroom & Kitchen Eleven selected large format Rhine tiles paired with traditional ‘aged’ Pottery metro tiles. The soft tones give a calming feel, while combining the large and small format, matt and gloss tiles, adds visual interest and depth.
‘Using larger format tiles for your key wet areas (such as the shower or wet room) means less grout. Whilst using the smaller metro tiles allows for a feature area and can make a focal point feel larger – such as behind the basin or behind the bath. The reflective nature of these smaller tiles also helps bring light into the room as it bounces from its glossy surface’ says Adam Wollerton, Design Manager at Bathroom & Kitchen Eleven.
The free-standing bath by BC Designs adds an elegant contemporary touch and ties in beautifully with the fluted shower screen with a brushed gold frame. There are also further touches of brushed gold brassware and accessories, which add warmth and create a natural flow. The bathroom is finished with an organic-shaped mirror and an oak basin unit, which contrast beautifully against the gloss tiles, enhancing the spa-like feel.
