When planning a new bathroom, your choice of tiles can make a huge difference to the overall effect. Take this project, which features three very distinctive bathrooms designed and installed by award-winning independent showroom @jj.bathrooms. Based in Wadebridge, Cornwall, this bespoke bathroom design and supply store transforms ordinary spaces into extraordinary sanctuaries.
In the first bathroom, the space has an instantly cheerful look thanks to the clever use of our Deck Chair Porcelain Rose tiles, which are used for the walls, floor and half-height walk-in shower walls. The playful striped design and dusky pink and white palette bring a traditional British holiday feel to this generously sized space.
The designers chose to lay the tiles in a striped pattern but you can play around with different layouts such as a basket weave effect to create something totally unique. Suitable for interior and exterior walls and floors, the tiles are super-versatile and look beautiful teamed with pale green painted panelled walls, freestanding roll-top tub, brushed gold shower and curved vanity unit. Pink floral wallpaper and pink and white striped wall lights enhance the classic décor, creating a sanctuary that’s sure to revive and rejuvenate after a long day.
The second bathroom feels like stepping straight into a Mediterranean villa. Featuring our Marlborough Terracotta Arabesque on the floor and Maroc Porcelain Bianco in the shower and on the splashback, this space blends rustic charm with natural beauty with its warming colour palette and artisanal look. Hardwearing and durable, the flooring brings an earthy and grounding feel to the bathroom while the Zellige-style wall tiles feature subtle tonal variation and a glossy finish for that authentic handmade feel.
Creating a bold and vibrant style, the third bathroom pairs our Maroc Porcelain Teal and Bianco tiles in a chequerboard effect on the shower walls with Portare Franklin Porcelain Light wood-effect plank tiles for the floor. These add a realistic timber surface underfoot with natural grains and swirled knots adding a textural feel. The shower, with its integrated seating, is perfect for an invigorating blast, sure to kick-start any day.
