Yellow Tiles

Yellow is the most optimistic colour in our range, bringing warmth and sunshine into a house in a way no neutral can manage. It sits at the centre of the Mediterranean palette, from ochre and saffron in Spain and Italy to the yellows found in Portuguese azulejos and the bright glazes of Mexican Talavera.

It's also one of the best colours for a room with little natural light. North-facing bathrooms, basement cloakrooms and interior spaces all gain more from a warm yellow than from white, which tends to look grey when the light is poor. Yellow holds its warmth and gives a room an atmospheric lift that feels like daylight even when there isn't much coming in.

Softer shades feel almost like a warm neutral, while stronger, more saturated tones bring a bolder, more confident personality. Yellow pairs beautifully with white, goes properly Mediterranean alongside terracotta and warm timber, turns tropical next to green, and looks graphic and modern against black. A splashback, a shower wall or a small cloakroom tiled entirely in yellow gives a room all of that lift without asking for a full commitment elsewhere in the scheme.
