White Wall Tiles

White wall tiles adapt to almost any room and any style, largely on the strength of format and finish rather than colour, giving a background that lets everything else in a scheme do the talking.

Format sets the tone first: a brick or metro shape laid in a half bond feels quiet and orderly, stood vertically it feels taller and more contemporary, and herringbone turns plain white into a pattern in its own right. Hexagons, scallops and picket shapes bring geometry without introducing colour, while our large-format tiles give a wall a spare, near-seamless finish with very few joints.

Finish does the rest of the work. Matt white wall tiles keep a room feeling calm and understated, an exercise in considered simplicity, while off-white tiles soften the same formats for something warmer than a clinical white. Handmade and zellige-style surfaces, with their pooling, variable glaze, are the simplest way to keep a white wall interesting as light moves across it, and crackle glazes add a sense of age. Relief and three-dimensional tiles throw shadow when lit from above, while white marble or limestone bring veining and movement instead of texture.

Grout is the single biggest decision left: white on white keeps a wall looking like one continuous surface, while grey or darker grout turns the pattern graphic, making every tile a visible part of the design.
