White Kitchen Tiles

White has been the default kitchen colour for a long time, and for good reason. It's hygienic to look at, shows when a surface needs attention, and works with every cabinetry colour going.

On the walls, a white brick tile splashback is a classic for good reason: laid in a half bond it sits quietly behind the worktop, stacked vertically it looks sharper, and set in a herringbone it becomes a feature in its own right. Our handmade, gently textured white tiles with an uneven glaze catch the light along a worktop run, while veined white marble makes a beautiful splashback against timber or painted cabinetry.

On the floor, white and off-white stone or porcelain gives a kitchen a light, open base, especially useful in an open-plan space, with a honed, matt or tumbled finish offering good grip for a floor that takes a lot of traffic.

The most successful white kitchens build in texture and tonal variation: a handmade wall tile against a smooth worktop, a slightly warmer white underfoot than on the walls, a touch of timber or brass somewhere in the mix. That keeps the room white while gaining depth.
