Wall Tiles

A wall is the easiest surface in a house to change, and the one that does the most to set the character of a room. It's also where you can be boldest, since a wall tile doesn't have to survive being walked on. Handmade ceramics, marble and limestone, glass, terracotta, delicate mosaics and large-format porcelain all find a place within our range.

Format and pattern do much of the work. A brick or metro tile laid in a half bond feels like a quiet, orderly default, while the same tile stacked vertically feels taller and more contemporary. Herringbone turns plain tile into something decorative, squares feel calm and traditional, and faceted hexagons, scallops and picket shapes bring geometry to a single colour. Mosaics wrap curves, niches and awkward corners that nothing else covers as neatly.

Material shifts the feel of a wall as much as colour does. Handmade and handmade-look ceramics carry variation in glaze and shade, so a wall shifts subtly as the light moves across the day. Marble and limestone bring depth, veining and a coolness that suits bathrooms particularly well, while terracotta and glazed brick bring warmth instead.

The finer details, like grout colour, joint width and tiling height, do as much to define the finished look as the tile itself, turning a simple wall into a considered, layered surface.
