Traditional Floor Tiles
The grand hallways of old country houses set the template for this floor range: checkerboard layouts, octagon- and hexagon-shaped pieces finished with cabochons, or a stretch of rustic paving-style stone, laid with the same considered patterning found in those original halls.
Underneath the pattern, stone pieces come tumbled or antiqued, some finished with a weathered face and laid at random, while porcelain equivalents carry that same texture built into the mould.
Since flagstones and terracotta were originally cut for flooring in the first place, some pieces in our range are the material outright rather than a likeness of it: stone pulled from old paving and floors laid generations before this range came along, and evocative terracotta carried over from French chateaus, given a scrub and set back to work underfoot. Laid across a hallway or an open room, it settles in fast, the way a floor that's earned its wear always does.
