Square Floor Tiles
Floors get read from across a room in a way walls rarely are, and squares laid underfoot show off the grid the format is best known for the moment the eye crosses a threshold from hallway into kitchen or living space.
That same grid can be built up into something more layered across a larger area: squares set straight up to a doorway or run of skirting, then turned onto the diagonal and split into triangles to frame a hearth, an island, or the edge of the room as a feature border.
Tile size shifts how the floor reads too: a bigger format cuts down on joint lines across an open-plan space, while a tighter grid at smaller sizes brings more texture underfoot. Joint width has its own effect on the finished floor as well, tightened for a precise, smooth sweep from room to room or opened out a little for a look with more rustic character. Our square tiles remain the format most floors are still planned around, whether laid straight, on the diagonal, or in a simple brick pattern.
