Rectangle Kitchen Tiles

A splashback is where this shape earns its keep fastest in a kitchen. Set behind a run of units in a brick bond, the tile keeps a tidy, unfussy look; turned on its side or arranged into a herringbone, that same wall becomes a proper focal point instead.

Depending on that scale, the same shape is known as metro, brick-shaped or flagstone, though each of our ranges always holds to one uniform size throughout. Smaller cuts suit a splashback or run of wall tiling, while larger ones carry the same proportions across an open-plan kitchen-diner floor.

Run the tile along a galley kitchen and it stretches the room out; turn it crossways between a run of units and the same kitchen feels broader rather than stretched. The piece stays close to double-width relative to its height throughout, so a well judged choice of direction does most of the work.
