Kitchen Splashback Tiles

A splashback occupies the strip of wall between the worktop and the units above it, exactly where the eye naturally lands in a kitchen, so it earns the right to carry pattern and colour that the rest of the room doesn't need. A Delft-style hand-painted design or a Zellige glaze brings artisanal texture and depth to that space, catching the light differently depending on where you're stood.

Laid in a herringbone instead, the same tile takes on a sharper, more graphic character, turning a plain run behind the hob into a feature in its own right rather than a backdrop to the units either side. Either way, a splashback like this can hold its own without asking the rest of the kitchen to follow suit.

Below it, one of our flagstone floors gives the room a settled, continuous base, leaving all the colour and detail to happen on the wall where it's noticed first.
