Kitchen Floor Tiles

Our kitchen floor tiles carry more daily footfall than any other surface in the house, so before anything else they need to work hard without ever looking like they are. Laid as one continuous flagstone from wall to wall, a floor becomes the weighty anchor that holds the whole room together, whatever the style of cabinetry sitting above it.

Colour does much of the remaining work. Stone tones bring texture and natural variation underfoot, white keeps a kitchen feeling open and bright, and cream lands somewhere between the two, softer than white but still light-catching. Because the same tile can carry on into a hallway, dining room or utility beyond, one choice at floor level often ends up shaping several rooms rather than just the kitchen itself.

Above the worktop, a hand-painted or Zellige-glazed splashback is the classic partner for a floor like this, adding pattern to the room without needing to match it exactly.
