Put on your blue suede shoes and step onto Memphis, our new collection of decorative porcelain tiles, with a striking star print.
Memphis is a 20 x 20cm square format tile, suitable for interior and exterior walls and floors and is available in six on trend colours: Khaki, Lead, Lagoon, Graphite, Denim and Coral. We love the unrefined edges of Memphis and matt finish, which brings a sense of authenticity and character, as well as a handmade encaustic feel.
A new interior trend, colour drenching is essentially the act of colour-blocking your interior from floor to ceiling, and everything in between. Colour drenching doesn’t have to solely apply to paint and accessories, it also works with tiles in a particularly striking manner too. It goes without saying that Memphis is just perfect for this. Its bold appearance is made even more valiant by running it from floor to ceiling. We especially love seeing Graphite run in this way. Its monochrome tone means you are still able to accessorize, without it feeling too busy. Recreate this look with a contemporary Elle + James concrete basin, plus an oversized round mirror and antiqued brass wall lights from Graham and Green.
It goes without saying that we couldn’t miss a perfectly pink shade out of this collection, and Coral ticks all the boxes. Run this soft and subtle blush tile from the floor to a half wall, finishing the remaining half with Ophelia’s Blush from our Proper Good Paint™ collection. The perfect space to relax in the tub, this pink oasis will wrap you up in a nurturing hug.
Sticking with the theme of colour drenching, take a look at Denim. Perfect for use as a shower cladding, thanks to its R10 slip rating Memphis Denim creates a refuge away from the busy hustle and bustle of life. Create the look and turn your bathroom into a rainforest garden by adding shower friendly tropical plants such as Peperomia or a Peace Lily. Their fresh and vibrant greens will compliment the calming blues of Denim perfectly, helping to create your own little Eden.
Lagoon is one of the softest tones within the Memphis collection. Its delicate hues are reminiscent of something you might have imagined when reading about the infamous Mermaid Lagoon in Peter Pan. This colour variant feels light and airy, which is why it works so well in smaller spaces such as downstairs cloakrooms or ensuite bathrooms that require a modern face-lift.
Not just for bathrooms, the porcelain material of Memphis means it is incredibly durable, making it a good option for high traffic areas like hallways and kitchen floors, as well as practical spaces like boot rooms and utilities or on top of underfloor heating. We love Khaki paired with off white cabinetry and marble worktops to create a fresh and clean space. Or even Lead, a reverse colour-way to Graphite, which features a white background with soft grey star design. This works particularly well against darker cabinets to really show off its pattern.
