The Shape of Things to Come

The Shape of Things to Come

When it comes to tile trends, shapes are gaining as much interest as colour and today’s homeowners and designers can benefit from the wide array of tile shapes that can now be used to create stunning feature areas and eye-catching schemes all around the home. At Ca’Pietra we like to forecast tile trends to ensure that we can get our hands on them, offering everything from herringbone, penny and hexagon styles to scallops and squares.

Scallop tiles are one of the top trends forecast for 2019 and it’s easy to see their appeal with the fish scale effect working brilliantly in bathrooms. Check out the Atlantis porcelain collection in vibrant Emerald, Navy or Ultramarine or go for a more subtle effect with sophisticated Grey.

Keeping it compact, penny tiles are small and sweet with a mosaic design that can add a luxe look to kitchens and bathrooms. Ca’Pietra has plenty to tempt you with, take a look at our new Yoga Penny porcelain mosaic in iridescent Blush, Deep Blue, Grey Blue, Mint Green, Teal Blue, Tempest, Verdigris and White.

Herringbone started out as a huge trend in timber flooring but it’s now evolved into an interiors must-have for walls too, with herringbone mosaic tiles alongside slim linear designs that can be laid in this contemporary effect. Keep it elegant and understated with Long Island Marble Herringbone Mosaic underfoot or glam up the bathroom with Jet Set Milan Silver Marble Mosaic.

Hexagons are also on every interior guru’s hot-list and the must-have design this season is the Lily Pad pattern tile, which comes in Marine, Plum, Blush Rose, Eden, Denim and Clay. Use it to make a shower area stand out or give floors the ultimate visual feast. Take inspiration from The Frugality and mix your hexagon tiles with an equally of-the-moment herringbone for ultimate impact.

When you want to make it all about the colour and finish, there are plenty of square styles to complement or contrast with your décor. New from Ca’Pietra is the Bazaar ceramic range in bold and subtle shades. Place the Bazaar Multi behind a cloakroom basin to make the space pop or team our Bazaar Moss Green tile with a copper freestanding bath to create a tranquil space to escape to at the end of a long week.
