Showroom Spotlight: Ripples Chichester

Showroom Spotlight: Ripples Chichester

Located at the bottom of the South Street shopping area within Chichester’s city centre, Ripples’ latest West Sussex showroom is the perfect one-stop shop for all your bathroom needs, with plenty of Ca’ Pietra stone and tiles to give surfaces that touch of wow factor. Ripples offers a truly tailored bathroom service, from product sourcing and design consultancy through to installation from trusted local suppliers. “We can help clients with anything from an elegant ensuite to a fun and functional family space or a compact cloakroom,” says Helen Jennings, Director at Ripples Chichester. “If a client is just looking for that perfect product to finish their bathroom space, rather than a full bathroom re-design, we have a vast collection to choose from across sanitary ware, brassware, tiles, lighting and accessories.”

The overall style of the products on offer suits all styles of property, from traditional to contemporary and everything in between. To the north of Chichester lies the stunning South Downs countryside and to the south, the coastline. The showroom therefore features displays to spark inspiration for city, coastal and countryside properties in particular.

We work with the best bathroom suppliers in Europe to offer our clients a collection which is vast and of exceptional quality,” adds Helen. “Our product range includes baths, showers and enclosures, WCs, basins and brassware in almost every style, colour and design imaginable. We also offer unique collections and materials that offer something a little bit different including concrete basins, special finish brassware and bespoke solid wood furniture.”

“Setting out the design of the showroom was a little daunting at first, as we were working with a completely blank space. However, once we started breaking it down into sections, I was able to envisage the products required. We wanted to ensure each space felt like a real bathroom, rather than just a collection of products, so we designed the showroom to be a selection of room sets to help our clients visualise their own bathroom spaces and spark inspiration for their bathroom design.”

For Helen, working with Ca’ Pietra was a must. “The tiles were an incredibly important part of the showroom design,” she says, “and I was fortunate to be able to visit Ca’ Pietra’s HQ in Devizes before lockdown started, which was a great opportunity to see their beautiful tiles on display and choose the samples I envisaged for our showroom. I created mood boards for each display and then it all began to come together with ease.”

“We have many Ca’ Pietra tiles on display,” adds Helen, “and I love the tiles so much that I’ve even included a Ca’ Pietra sample display at my desk station. This enables me to create mood boards for clients, allowing them to not just see the tiles but to experience the different textures and finishes for themselves. Our showroom displays feature the Spitalfields Retro Star in white, Palazzo Picket, Baobab Silver Blue Leaf, Brompton Borough, Brasserie Glass Mosaic in white, Mono Hex Daisy, Yoga Penny in white and Bamboo in white. This offers a huge range of styles, shapes and colours, which spark conversations with clients and which inspire our bathroom designs.”

The reason that Helen loves Ca’ Pietra so much is because she sees it as an interior designer’s sweetie shop, “The colours, patterns, textures and choice are a dream to work with and to include within our design proposals. Many clients who visit the showroom come in to admire our tile collection and many have already seen Ca’ Pietra products on Pinterest or Instagram so they’re delighted to see them in reality.”

When a customer visits Ripples Chichester, before offering any advice, Helen and her team will listen to their requirements for their new bathroom to understand how it will be used and who will use it. “We also look at their inspirational images collected from magazines or social media,” she explains, “to understand the style and aesthetic they’d like to achieve. We can then use the showroom displays to recommend products which will suit both the style and functionality they’d like in their new bathroom. As we have extensive interior design and project management experience within our team, we’re able to use our expertise to spec the best tiles for the client. When we hand over to our trusted local installers, we provide them with a detailed technical pack, which gives them everything they need to fully understand the bathroom design along with the exact products that will be supplied. We’ve had a fabulous reaction to the new National Trust Tile Collection for instance. So much so that we’re now looking to introduce them into one of our displays.”
