Neutral thinking

Kitchens are the heart of the home; a space where family and friends come together to cook, eat and relax. When it comes to designing the perfect place for all these activities while maintaining a calm and tranquil mood, designer @katefeatherkitchendesign has mastered the art beautifully.

This bespoke kitchen oozes subtle sophistication with its combination of light and dark in-frame Shaker-style cabinetry, clutter-free surfaces, porcelain flooring and wall tiles. For this project, Kate selected our Isle Porcelain Perla 60cm x 30cm tiles for the floor, a high-definition porcelain tile inspired by classic English limestone. The matt-finish rectangular tiles are low maintenance and easy to clean as well as soft and warm underfoot. The perfect choice for this timeless and enduring kitchen style, the flooring complements its surroundings and is ideal for high traffic areas and busy family homes.

For the walls, Kate designed a splashback running the entire length of the worksurface on all three walls, protecting them from splashes and spills from the range cooker and sink. She chose our Kennet Porcelain range, a glazed, hand-dipped effect tile with a gorgeous colour palette inspired by a rejuvenating walk by the water. Blending classic and contemporary styling, the 40cm x 10cm brick design can be laid vertically or horizontally and mixed and matched with different tones to create a personal look.

Tiles can be used to make a statement in interiors or blend in beautifully to create a cohesive look and feel. This stunning bespoke kitchen shows how the careful curation of products and materials creates something truly special.
