Originally built in the 1820s, this former rectory has been sensitively reworked to bring balance, light and flow to every corner. A reconfigured stair forms the heart of the layout, unlocking a sense of ease and openness throughout. The new ground-floor extension blurs the boundaries between inside and out - connecting kitchen, dining and sitting areas to the garden and pool beyond.

The interiors nod to the client’s Dutch modern sensibility, while honouring the home’s historical roots. Smoked oak and a soft palette of greys offer a warm, understated backdrop, layered with natural materials and carefully selected stone.

In the kitchen, a 50mm mitred Fior di Bosco marble waterfall island and matching unit tops anchor the space, while the feature fire surround in the same stone carries the palette through to the living area. The entrance and staircase are finished in honed Lombardo limestone, with bespoke treads and landings that reinforce the home’s architectural rhythm. Bespoke Taj Mahal marble brings quiet opulence to the bathrooms, detailed with full-height tiling, floating shelves and a mitred vanity unit.

Outside, landscaping and materiality are equally considered. Honed Moleanos stone cladding gives weight and presence to the entrance, while high-performance glazing and a reworked façade bring energy efficiency and proportion. The pool sits effortlessly in the landscape, framing far-reaching coastal views.

This is another example of what happens when vision meets craft - an approach to architecture and interiors that’s as intelligent as it is beautiful.
