Our homes often reflect who we are. So, for @pollyanna_wilkinson, award-winning garden designer and founder of @studiopollyannadesign, it was important that her home was full of character, practical and durable with natural themes throughout. Her @the_insandouts_ podcast co-host and friend @houseninedesign rose to the challenge, creating the perfect interior for this warm and welcoming family home.
In the spacious open-plan kitchen, they chose our Buscot Limestone Tumbled 60 x random tiles, a natural beige limestone with a traditional rustic effect. Jojo Barr of @houseninedesign prides herself on creating client-centric designs, putting her clients’ needs, wants and preferences at the very centre of the design process. ‘A home should reflect a personality and ooze character and soul,’ she says. ‘Polly-Anna’s brief was to give her colour but make it timeless. It must be functional and hardwearing but not boring. And, of course, it must hold hands with the outside, not clash or fight.’
With this in mind, the limestone flooring provides the perfect backdrop to the beautiful panelled ceiling, traditional green cabinetry and zoned kitchen, dining and relaxation areas. ‘I wanted character and soul and for the design to feel like my home,’ adds Polly-Anna. In the utility area, she chose our Wychwood and Amaya Limestone Tumbled tiles to create a Victorian-style chequerboard floor. Mustard yellow wall panelling frames it beautifully, with brass wall lights highlighting it even further. The result has delivered just the downstairs setting that Polly-Anna wanted, a tranquil interior for all seasons.
