The Collection behind the award
Enso mosaics are irresistibly tactile, with a softly undulating surface designed to be experienced as much by touch as by sight. Named after the Zen Buddhist theme of Ensō, which encompasses the ideals of wholeness through imperfection, these mosaics evoke the look of crystal-clear streams flowing over pebbles, each one gently rounding and becoming more characterful over time. Light them for best effect, to reveal a dappled, organic texture.
That sense of age is the heart of the collection. No two pieces are identical and no edge is truly straight, which is exactly why a newly finished room laid in Enso never feels newly finished at all.
How to use it
Enso comes in Chalk, Sand and Charcoal, in cube and strip formats, with a Sand and Chalk chess design for a gentle pattern.
Pair Enso Chalk and Sand with limestones and Ottoman marble for a soft neutral scheme, or combine Enso Charcoal with wood-effect porcelain or deep, rich tones for something more dramatic. Charcoal can be finished with a standard sealer for a natural grey, or with a black stone sealer for a richer off-black look.
