Last month, we rounded up five of the bathrooms we’d been swooning over on Instagram, from @thehouseofhooper’s marble and green hide-from-the-kids sanctuary to @heatherrosieolivehome’s pretty and playful ice cream sundae palette in her family bathroom. How could we stop at just five though? What with February being the most romantic month of them all, here come five more Instagram bathrooms to fall for…
Bijou and Blue
We first shared with you a glimpse into former fashion editor Erica Davies’ newly-decorated pad in our January feature on home updates through paint – her use of Otto’s Gold to bold and beautiful effect. Now though, we let Erica lead us from bedroom to adjoining bathroom where her guest bedroom’s colour palette lives on.
A small but mighty space, Zale’s Powder goes from being a bedroom accent (look to the ceiling) to the main event, opening up the space to maximise the natural light coming through its single window that’s also reflected by the surf-edged mirror. Otto’s Gold-inspired pops come via the towels, the vanity bin, the brassware and even the amber-hued soap pump.
Continuing with the blue sky thinking, Erica picked out our candy stripe Neapolitan tiles, but in the Aqua Green finish which is that bit softer than the blue version. Being a porcelain tile, they’re perfect for wall – hence the cute splash back behind the sink – but can also be used on floor spaces in rooms that see light traffic. Being the guest ensuite, box ticked!
Night Sky Stars
Keeping with the blue theme, but sliding down the colour scale somewhat into the territory of royal blue and navy, is this majestic master bathroom designed by Huntsmore.
There’s no question which aspect of the interior decorating steals the show here – the feature shower wall in our starburst Lily Pad tiles in Admiral. As if your eye needs further convincing to look this way, the contemporary brass shower valves will appeal to the magpies amongst us and the oversized basin mirror reflects the stars back at you so you get to appreciate their presence on yet another wall.
That’s not the only thing to love in this smart washroom – his and hers sinks, yes please.
Classic meets contemporary – a phrase used a lot in the world of interiors, but for good reason. There’s many a home that contrasts period architecture with contemporary décor, or even heritage prints across upholstery or wallpaper with contemporary furniture and finishes.
This next bathroom is evidence of just that, where our heavily patterned Brick Lane Hanbury Street tiles take to the floors and shower wall with the remaining two tiled in modern, minimalist Delicate Metro. The interplay between old and new continues through the bathroom fittings – modern loo, vanity unit and brassware but plentiful use of antiqued brass by way of finish. Balance struck in our book.
La Vie En Rose
Our Carter Rose tiles are one of the most Instagrammable in our entire collection making this fourth bathroom an instant hit.
Blogger, The Lonsdale Diaries, documented the whole renovation project, taking it from pistachio green and pine floors to blush pink and marble underfoot – a transformation and then some.
Carter Rose covers the entire shower enclosurr. Vicky then matched the colour of her rolltop bath with a final accent hue of soft, dove grey on her vanity unit. We love the idea of her sinking into the bubbles (with a glass of bubbles to hand too preferably), looking onto a Carter Rose view in front of her – heaven.
Understated and Architectural
We end on something a bit different – a bathroom that’s ultra modern, that’s chic, that’s sleek, that’s lowkey.
Everything about this shower room sets our heart aflutter – the shaft of light above the shower rose, the full-length shower niche that’s as architecturally striking as it is useful (when it’s bound to be filled with lotions and potions), and of course, the full-wall display of our new Bamboo White Porcelain. Could there be a better environment to see them at their best? We think not.
Head to @the_raw_renovation on Instagram and to their first-ever post to see a before shot. It’ll make you fall even harder for the bathroom that it’s become.
