Type: A HQ Experience Day for Designers, Architects and Contractors
Date: Wednesday 15th April 2026, 10am - 3pm
Venue: Our Devizes HQ (Stonebridge House, Nursteed Road, Devizes, SN10 3DY)
Overview:
Join us for an immersive open day at the home of Ca’ Pietra, hosted at our Design & Experience Centre, slab yard and bespoke workshop in Devizes.
The day begins with a relaxed breakfast and time to explore the showroom and connect with fellow landscape designers, architects, designers, and contractors. A guided tour through our workshops and slab gallery, offer insight into material choices, processes, and manufacturing capabilities, before we return to the showroom for an introduction to the RHS range. Lunch is provided, followed by a CPD session focused on material performance, finishes, bespoke considerations and installation to support confident specification across residential and commercial projects. The day also includes a hands-on workshop where everyone will leave with a tangible reminder from the day.
This open day offers a practical, engaging way to explore materials first-hand, feel truly confident when working with natural stone, and experiences the full breadth of Ca’ Pietra’s design and manufacturing expertise.

Course Overview:
Natural stone has been used for centuries within our buildings, in their structure, interiors and exteriors.
The Art of Specifying Natural Stone will guide you through the qualities and varieties of natural stone as well as its suitability for project application.
Learning Outcomes:
To learn the basic geology and mineral make-up of the stone varieties most commonly used in architecture and design.
To understand which varieties of stone are suitable for various applications.
To recognise what to look out for when specifying natural stone
How to troubleshoot the various issues that can occur with stone.

This CPD, created by the Ca’ Pietra Projects team, explores the use of natural stone in exterior design, covering material selection, finishes, sustainability and performance. It also introduces bespoke applications beyond paving, with guidance on detailing, fabrication and practical specification to help designers bring projects to life with confidence.
Learning Outcomes:
Understand which natural stones are best suited to UK outdoor environments
Know how to specify correct formats and finishes for performance and aesthetics
Gain insights into bespoke stone applications beyond paving
Understand lead times, fabrication techniques, and CNC stonework

This 30-minute session explores the lifecycle of stone and tile, from quarry to completion, highlighting how sustainable practices and mindful specification can reduce waste, lower embodied carbon, and extend the lifespan of materials.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this presentation, participants will:
Understand the environmental impact of stone and tile in context with other materials.
Learn how longevity and durability contribute to true sustainability in interior and exterior design.
Gain insight into responsible quarrying, manufacturing, and waste reduction processes.
Explore reclaimed and recycled material innovations, such as Reformed Stone and Terrazzo.
