As we head into our first full month of autumn, the Ca’ Pietra team gather together to curate all things eye-catching. From the trend that’s set our hearts aflutter to our top pick of who to follow on Instagram, there’s plenty to keep you entertained on those days you’re holed up inside. Plus, each month we’ll be revealing the tile combination that we’re currently crushing over to inspire your very own lockdown decor goals. Dig in!
Have you heard? Proper Good Paint™ by Ca’ Pietra has finally landed and we’re more than a little bit excited to reveal it to the masses this month. Our creative director Hamish has pulled together a delectable palette of eco-conscious colours that are all blended here in Britain to brighten and beautify interiors across the country. Fancy Asher’s Cranberry in your dining room come Christmastime? Or how about Savannah’s Moss for a gorgeously green update on your kitchen’s cabinetry? Spoilt for choice you most certainly will be, but not terrifyingly so – we’ve edited the palette down to a perfectly digestible 35 hues.
First there was The Great Indoors podcast brought to us by decorating deities Sophie Robinson and Kate Watson Smyth (aka Mad About the House), and now a second podcast for the design-obsessed by the property mavericks at The Modern House. First airing back in January with Rosa Park, editor of Ca’ Pietra favourite, Cereal magazine as its debut guest, it’s now nine episodes in and we’re 100% hooked. Each 40-minute chapter documents an architecture-led conversation between The Modern House cofounder Matt Gibberd and a certain someone from the world of design, be it artists like Michael Craig-Martin or Tom Broughton who created the game changing spectacle brand, Cubitts. A Desert Island Discs for design-lovers is how it’s been described – we couldn’t agree more.
A well-known interior design duo and then some, 2LG Studio is a longterm love of ours at Ca ‘ Pietra – their projects have an indisputable joie de vivre that always puts a smile on our faces. ‘Makers and curators of beautiful things and beautiful spaces’ is how they describe themselves on their Instagram bio and we couldn’t have put it better ourselves. Follow them for a daily dose of uplifting colour, energising applications of paint and pattern, and of course, plenty of tile inspiration.
Algarve Encaustic x Atlantis Scallop: an instant sellout, our new starburst encaustic tile might suit walls as much as floors, but we’re picturing them laid feet first with plenty more colour and pattern to follow. Atlantis Scallop in Emerald pulls out one of the understated tones in the Algarve Encaustic tile and juxtaposes its sharp Art Deco lines with curves and flowing undulations. Unleash your inner maximalist and your bathroom will have never felt so alive and kicking.
